| Hunter is our classic fawn boy which Cheryl
Cates so graciously sent to our home. I had adored Hunter as a small puppy and
watched closely as he grew. It wasn't easy to convince Cheryl that the dog needed to come all the
way to Louisiana from California, especially, when at 7 months old, he
won Grand Sweepstakes at the East Bay Boxer Club under breeder judge Jennifer
Tellier and also won his class under breeder judge Cheryl Robbins. Hunter goes Reserve Dog from the Bred By class under Mrs. L. Valiunas from a large entry at the May 2003 Badger KC just prior to the ABC. Hunter was second in his Bred By class and Futurity class at the Nationals as well, handled on these occasions by his breeder Cheryl Cates. Mrs. I. Bivin is the first to give the nod to this exceptional plain dog by awarding him Winners Dog at the June 2003 Texarkana KC show. Handled here by co-owner Terri Galle. November 2004 Hunter goes Winners Dog and Best of Winners under Mr. R. Hartinger at the Brandon KC. Early in May 2005 after a rest and to mature some, Hunter hits the ring again and goes Winners Dog under Mrs. D. Buxton at the Beaumont KC. A whirlwind Memorial Day May 2005, Hunter goes Winners Dog and Best of Winners back to back at the Boomer Boxer Club and the Boxer Club of OK specialties under Mr. J. Connally and Mrs. P. Mullen respectively. These majors bring Hunter within just a few singles of his title! Way to go Hunter and Terri! Hunter goes Winners Dog and Best of Winners back to back at the June 2005 Kennel Club Of Texarkana under Ms. B. R. Leininger and Mrs. M. E. Downey. July 2005 at the Mid-Del-Tinker KC show Hunter finishes his championship going Winners Dog, Best of Winners, and Best Opposite Sex under Mr. L. Mapes. Hunter is an extremely smooth fawn dog with a beautiful head and good mouth, excellent movement, both coming and going and ground covering side gait. He also excels in topline and tailset, with the most wonderfully sweet Boxer disposition. I can't thank Cheryl Cates enough for allowing this wonderful boy share his life with us. |
